Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This Cookie Policy is provided pursuant to Art. 122 of the Italian Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003, as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018), the guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante, Order No. 231 of 10 June 2021) and, for any personal data processed through cookies, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). It complements our Privacy Policy.

This is an English translation of our Italian Cookie Policy, provided for the convenience of international visitors. In case of any discrepancy, the Italian version prevails.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that visited websites send to and store on the user's device, to be sent back to the same websites on the next visit. Cookies can be "session" cookies (deleted when the browser is closed) or "persistent" cookies (they remain stored until they expire or are manually deleted), and can be set directly by the Site ("first-party") or by third-party domains ("third-party"). Similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage — which we use, for example, to remember your choice on the cookie banner — fall under the same category.

2. Categories of cookies used

2.1 Technical cookies (always active, no consent required)

Necessary for the basic functioning of the Site. Under applicable law, these do not require your prior consent.

2.2 Third-party cookies — advertising (Google AdSense)

If you give consent, the Site uses Google AdSense to display advertising, including ads personalised to your interests. Google may set its own cookies and identifiers (e.g. for ad measurement and fraud prevention). The up-to-date list of cookies used by Google and their durations are available in Google's cookie policy and on the how Google uses data from partner sites page. You can also manage Google ad personalisation directly at myadcenter.google.com or at youronlinechoices.eu. Without consent, no advertising cookies are set and any ads shown (if present) are not personalised.

2.3 Affiliate cookies (third-party)

The links on the dashboard lead to the websites of our travel partners: Booking.com, Travelpayouts and the services accessible through its network (including Skyscanner and Hotellook), GetYourGuide, Viator and DiscoverCars. When you click one of these links, upon arriving on the partner's website (not on our Site) an affiliate-tracking cookie may be set, which lets the partner recognise that the visit came from AFplanner: this is how we receive our commission if a booking is made, at no extra cost to you. These cookies are set and managed independently by the partner under its own cookie policy, which we invite you to review on the partner's site.

2.4 Analytics cookies

The Site currently does not use third-party statistical analysis tools. If we introduce them in the future, this page will be updated accordingly and, where required by law, consent will be requested through the cookie banner.

3. Legal basis and consent

Setting technical cookies does not require consent. Setting advertising profiling cookies and other non-essential cookies requires your free, specific and informed consent, which we collect through the banner shown on your first visit to the Site. You can accept all cookies, reject non-essential ones, or change your choice at any later time.

4. How to manage your preferences

You can change your choice at any time by clicking "Manage cookie preferences" in the Site's footer, present on every page. Alternatively, you can manage or disable cookies directly from your browser settings:

Please note that disabling technical cookies in your browser may affect the correct functioning of the Site.

5. Updates to this Cookie Policy

This page may change over time, including as a result of regulatory changes or the introduction of new tools on the Site. We invite you to review it periodically.
